Disappointing. Postmodern and Bauhaus modernism laced plagiarism as an overkill, a looped sided affair with cuts/styles that look poorly fitted. Rushed, inundated and excessive. All the hall marks of churning out graduates (not just in fashion design mind you, the same as nurses, doctors, accountants, lawyers, architects etc). A messy collection, as mentioned, right out of the pages of 1920s modernism and post-modernism imagery (the students were probably shown ‘mood boards’ via the teacher, thus sucking out rebellion in creating new looks from their own brains) with scant originality, some slight moments of 1980s influences ala Comme De Garcons greatness and Jean Paul Gaultier, Vivienne Westwood (the rubbish bag, reworking styles with ‘punk’ aesthetics). Read: Li Edelkoort “fashion is obsolete”.
