Undoubtedly for the majority of men’s Fall 2018 fashion weeks seen mostly from London and Paris, is the return of the masculine.  The tough, resilient and brave.  Of course the fashion industry attempts to set future trends in lieu of future seasons.  As reviewer and critic of fashion, trends are set within the now whether they occur later is disputable, what is significant are the influences of everyday existence on designers and fashion shows.  For Haider Ackermann men’s Fall 2018 collection it is refreshing to see an experienced and seasoned designer such as Akermann set his own benchmark against himself as far as representing expertise in style and aesthetics.

In references to the “tough, resilient and brave” in men’s fashion, is the stylization of mountaineering, military and survivalist wears.  But not seen as uniformity, or a conformed expression.  Rather the mentioned looks, can be re-worked into newer dynamics, which in turn offers a unique take on men’s styles.  Haider Ackermann has intermixed his dandy and enveloped him within a rugged outdoor influenced collection.   In reported show notes and commentary, Ackermann wanted to offer a worn or “inhabited” look to his Fall 2018 collection.  As seen with his previous seasons, he has ensured that the clothes have an effortless form to them.

For Haider Ackermann men’s Fall 2018 collection there is the designer’s stalwart blazer styles, if the “blazer” is becoming one of the main trends going into 2018.  Ackermann has already established himself as a designer capable of reworking these conservative looks, maintaining his unique take on the traditional coat and jacket styles.  Exceptionally tailored with some of the most beautifully cut clothes seen so far at Men’s Fall 2018 Fashion weeks.  Tan, gray and olive colored military inspired blazers and pants, with ceremonial styled silk pants, a fusion of both Asian (pattern and style) and Western aesthetics with the military influenced Lampasse side seam stripes.  Rich yellows, blues and radiant gold, with an intricate color representation that overlapped various silky and velvety fabrics, a subtle and purposeful melding of flower and plant inspired colors.

A stunning collection.
